Consumer Finance Symposium 2010

The symposium will address important public policy issues impacting financial wellbeing in retirement including longevity risk and post-retirement income streams as well as the opportunities for financial advisers, superannuation funds and product providers. The symposium format involves a series of presentations, “prac-ac” workshops and panel discussions from selected academic, regulatory and policy centre working papers.

A highlight of the symposium is the launch of the Finsia-ACFS monograph, which explores policy issues affecting financial security in retirement. Profs Deborah Ralston and Kevin Davis will share significant insights with Symposium participants.

ACFS Academic and Policy Research Workshop (1.30 – 5.30pm):

The workshop objective is to encourage high quality research into topics of interest and value to policy-makers, lenders, advisors and individual consumer finance professionals; and identifying areas where industry may be able to provide support for future research.

The format is for 4-academic and practitioner policy research papers addressed by discussants and in group Q&A.
