The objective of this workshop is to provide bankers, regulators and industry participants with insights into the determination of the cost of capital following the Global Financial Crisis.

The cost of capital (of debt and equity) and the Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) are key parameters for financial decision-making, evaluation of performance, and for valuation.

What are the merits of the alternative formulations of the WACC (such as the “vanilla WACC”)?

What are the recent trends in debt markets and credit spreads?

What are the determinants of credit spreads?

What debt maturity is appropriate?

What are appropriate “comparables” for estimating the cost of debt?
