Financial Wellbeing in Retirement

The Financial Wellbeing in Retirement Monograph, was prepared for Finsia and launched at the Consumer Finance Symposium on 3rd August, 2010 in Melbourne.

It identified key issues impacting on the financial wellbeing of individuals in retirement, with a focus on the extent and sustainability of both individual and public financial resources.

The monograph acknowledges that the experience of individuals within the community varies widely, depending on aspects such as gender and the individual’s ability to save within the accumulation phase of life. In particular, it gives emphasis to the experiences of women who generally face greater challenges in this respect.

It also provides insights into policy options, which can be used to achieve a broad based level of Financial Wellbeing for all citizens within the community.
